Mind over Matter

10/15/2009

It is simply a test, no matter what the score is it isn't the end of the world.  Why then can't I stop worrying about it?  I am sitting in bed, exhausted but with my heart pounding and mind racing I struggle to find rest.

Two weeks ago we were tested over the previous 8 weeks of material.  Tomorrow at 8am I will find out the results, actually I will click on a link followed by the appearance of either an S for satisfactory or a U for unsatisfactory.  Keep your fingers crossed that the trend continues to be all S's tomorrow.  The fearful aspect of the entire process is the uncertainty.  There is no solid way to judge what score you will end up with.  In 7 hours when I check the grades I will be be holding my breath, it actually takes me some time to muster up the courage to click.

Despite the drama of grades being released I will still load the car and head to Stillwater, OK at 11 am after IPC.  There will be six of meddies total traveling down south to see the Tigers take on OSU.  I am optimistic for a win despite all of the predictions being broadcast by the sports shows.

Go Tigers!

My name is Meg and I am currently a Geriatrics and Palliative Care Fellow at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.  I started this blog several years ago as a way to remember and talk about what I experienced while studying abroad in Rwanda during the summer of 2009.

The blog has now continued and still serves as a way to let my friends and family know what I have been up to and a way for me to open up.
